Ben Antebi, Ph.D., Joins the Maryland Stem Cell Research Fund (MSCRF) as Assistant Director

Dr. Ben Antebi serves as the Assistant Director, Maryland Stem Cell Research Fund (MSCRF). At MSCRF, Ben is responsible for management and oversight of the research portfolio. In this role, Ben aspires to develop and support stem cell and regenerative medicine research in the state of Maryland by working with scientists and various stakeholders to promote commercialization of stem cell technologies for treating patients at the bedside.

Ben joined MSCRF in April 2022 after a fruitful research career in the cell therapy field. Prior to joining MSCRF, Ben served as an Associate Director of Clinical Development at Cellphire, a biotechnology company that develops stabilized (freeze-dried and cryopreserved) cellular therapies for a variety of indications. Prior to Cellphire, Ben worked at the US Army Institute of Surgical Research where he developed and led the stem cell program at the Expeditionary Critical Care Department for the treatment of trauma-related injuries. Dr. Antebi has 15 years of experience in the field of cellular therapies, spanning basic research, preclinical translational models, and clinical studies.
