BTI Awarded Workforce Grant to Train 40 Lab Workers in Baltimore City

Baltimore Mayor Brandon Scott announced that BTI will is one of 17 recipients of new grants totaling nearly $5 million via the American Rescue Plan Act to train under- and unemployed Baltimore City residents. This represents the largest single investment ever made in Baltimore workforce training.

The new funding over the next two years will enable BTI to train and place 40 Baltimore City residents in biotech positions making a living wage of at least $18 per hour with benefits. The first group of new students funded by the grant will start in May 2022 with BTI’s next class/cohort.
