Charlottesville BioHub Names Two New Biotech Community Members to the Board of Directors
Charlottesville, VA April 13, 2022 — Charlottesville BioHub today announces the appointments of two senior life science and biotech veterans to its Board of Directors to support one of the fastest growing regional biotechnology communities in Virginia.
New members include Will Mauldin, PhD, Founder and CEO of Rivanna Medical, and Carleen Bowers, PhD, a local biotech community member and Sr. Director, Head of R&D Portfolio and Data Insights at Indigo. They join existing board members Payam Pourtaheri, Founder and CEO, AgroSpheres; Taylor Cope, Senior Operations Manager, InBio; and Susan Klees, Vice President, Communications, HemoShear Therapeutics. Nathan Evans, partner and registered patent attorney at Woods Rogers, is Corporate Secretary.

Former Board Members Nikki Hastings, PhD, Andrew Krouse and Dana Goldsmith now serve as Entrepreneurs-in-Residence (EIR) for the organization. The expanded EIR team serves early stage biotech companies and tech and other innovation-led entrepreneurs in the region’s entrepreneurial ecosystem, supported by a Virginia Innovation Partnership Corporation Regional Innovation Fund grant.
