The [email protected] Ground Breaking Celebration

Frederick’s first incubator – FITCI – started at Hood College in 2004 and quickly outgrew its space. Its move to Metropolitan Court was intended as a stepping stone to creating a dedicated facility, one designed to nourish emerging startup companies, especially in science and technology, as they grow from their earliest stages into healthy, viable, and contributing members of this area’s greater business ecosystem.

Now, the vision is coming to fruition. FITCI’s new community innovation center, The [email protected], is set to “break ground” as demolition and reconstruction begin at 321 Ballenger Center Drive.

The space will be a hub for Frederick’s diverse field of emerging & established innovators, resource partners, community groups, educators, other nonprofits, and more to collaborate and create, all in addition to FITCI’s office and laboratory space for startups, business support services, and proprietary entrepreneurial development programming.
