Scott Pattison joins uBriGene Biosciences International Team as Sr. Director, Business Development. Since 2015, uBriGene Biosciences International Co. has been dedicated to shaping the future of biotechnology by advancing life-changing therapies and technology platforms for its clients worldwide. uBriGene has an established global footprint with two GMP manufacturing facilities in China and Regional Headquarters in Richmond, BC, Canada. Recently, uBriGene has acquired a state-of-the-art facility in the greater Boston area, with GMP manufacturing capacity to serve cell and gene therapies, as well as provide contract analytical services, signifying further success and expansion into the North American market.
Pattison will be responsible for advancing business development initiatives for uBriGene across North America for all ATMP modalities. His enthusiasm for the process of building and growing brand awareness and new business is evident in his strategic approach to his new role. Pattison’s extensive experience and dedication to innovation are set to drive the company’s success in the competitive landscape of cell and gene therapy.
uBriGene has a proven track record of success, growing from its formation in 2015-2016 to having over 300 employees, three GMP facilities, and 50+ active GMP manufacturing projects in the gene and cell therapy space in Asia. Reflecting on uBriGene’s achievements, Pattison remarks, “They have a great team, great technologies, and great facilities – very innovative, a track record of success, and a great culture within their team and with their clients”.
About Scott Pattison
Scott Pattison is a therapeutics discovery and development solutions expert with over 20 years of experience in the drug discovery, CRO, and CDMO industry sectors. Pattison first got his start in the lab, earning his Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry at Purdue University before completing his MS in Molecular and Cellular Biology at Northwestern University and his PhD in Molecular and Cellular Biology from the Indiana University School of Medicine. Following his PhD, he completed his postdoc at St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in the Division of Experimental Hematology.
Pattison went on to take laboratory leadership roles at companies like Genetic Therapy, Inc., and Kemp Biotechnologies, Inc., before transitioning into Business Development and Corporate Development roles at companies like Qiagen, DiscoverX Corporation, FUJIFILM Cellular Dynamics International, Synthego Corporation, and Maravai LifeSciences. His scientific expertise has been important to his transition from the lab into successful commercial and strategic roles. Pattison is looking forward to returning to a client-facing role with uBriGene, helping to build their team and grow their business in North America.
Prior to joining uBriGene, Pattison led the planning, sourcing and execution of external innovation partnerships at both Maravai Life Sciences Holdings and Synthego. Pattison has now transitioned to uBriGene in his new role, where he will continue to apply his extensive experience and dedication to innovation to build high-impact partnerships in the cell and gene therapy CDMO space.
