This article is part of our 5 Questions With series, one of our ongoing People & Places Features. We love it because despite the consistent questioning, the answers are all unique. Be sure to FOLLOW us on LinkedIn to tell us what you think.

1) What did you want to be when you grow up? How’d you get from there to here?

Growing up, I was always drawn to the sciences, particularly biology and chemistry. By the time I reached high school and college, I was set on becoming a plastic surgeon, thanks to the show Nip/Tuck. However, despite my passion, I didn’t excel in the necessary college courses, so I had to rethink my future.

My dad, a successful business owner and amazing salesman, was always a big influence on me. Watching him work his magic made me think I could break into pharmaceutical sales. It turns out that wasn’t as easy as I thought, but life has a funny way of working out. I eventually landed a sales job where I discovered I had a knack for it, and that opened the door to what came next. A recruiter reached out about a role with Rees Scientific, and that’s when everything clicked. I got the job and dove headfirst into the life sciences world. This is also how I was introduced to ISPE and BioBuzz, which brings me here today!

2) How are you helping to build a more connected community?

I’ve always been a social person who genuinely enjoys meeting new people, hearing their stories, and finding ways to connect. Whether it’s through a shared passion for the life sciences or simply having a good conversation, I love networking and building relationships. I attend as many events as I can, each one giving me the chance to connect with people, learn about their interests, and understand their career journeys. These interactions drive me to keep building a stronger community where people can support and uplift one another.

I’d love to continue amplifying both BioBuzz and ISPE CBA by encouraging even more engagement—whether it’s attending events, sharing content, or providing feedback. I’m always open to hearing new ideas on strengthening our community and building more bridges!

3) What are currently buzzing about? Anything and everything…

Right now, I’m all about growth—both personally and professionally. On the personal side, I have a beautiful 8-month-old daughter who is the greatest. I’ve also recently launched a new LinkedIn initiative focused on learning and education within Environmental Monitoring, CQV, EMPQ, and Certifications.

I’m passionate about helping others in the life sciences space (and beyond) expand their knowledge, build their careers, and grow their networks. Sharing valuable content and insights with my connections excites me, and it’s been a great way to engage with equally driven people.

On the professional front, I’m working on some exciting new projects and opportunities that I can’t quite talk about yet, but let’s just say I can’t wait to share! These initiatives are challenging me in new ways, and I’m thrilled to be part of them. Besides that, I’m always looking for ways to stay connected—whether it’s attending events, learning about the latest industry trends, or meeting new people and hearing their stories.

4) If you could travel back in time – what early career advice would you give yourself?

I’d tell my younger self to start learning sooner! There’s an incredible amount of knowledge out there, and I’ve only recently started tapping into it through books, podcasts, and connecting with people in my network. The more I read, the more I realize how much I could have gained if I’d started this habit earlier. The insights, ideas, and perspectives I’ve been exposed to are game-changers. Whether it’s through formal education, hands-on experience, or simply reading more, the more you invest in yourself, the more you have to give back.

Oh, and I’d definitely tell myself to invest in Bitcoin—I mean, who wouldn’t, right?

5) The fun (and rotating) one… What else are you passionate about?

Traveling! I absolutely love exploring new places and experiencing different cultures. There’s something incredibly exciting about seeing how people live in other countries—their traditions, food, and way of life. Whether it’s a bustling city or a quiet countryside, I’m always up for an adventure.

What makes it even more special is that I can’t wait to share this passion with my daughter. I’m already planning some exciting trips for us, and I know the experiences we’ll have together will be unforgettable. Exploring the world through her eyes is something I’m really looking forward to!
