Mooresville’s Chilipad Partners With National Breast Cancer Foundation to Bring Better Sleep to People Affected by Breast Cancer

Chilipad, the North Carolina sleep technology company behind the water-based Chilipad 2.0 cooling system, has launched a year-long partnership with the National Breast Cancer Foundation (NBCF). As part of the partnership, Chilipad is committing $50,000 worth of its sleep technology to men and women affected by breast cancer. The collaboration also includes a limited-edition pink remote ring, with all proceeds directly supporting NBCF’s mission.

“Sleep is one of the first things breast cancer treatment can disrupt, but it’s also one of the most important parts of recovery,” said Robbie Falls, Chief Product & Marketing Officer at Chilipad. “At Chilipad, we’ve spent years helping people sleep better through temperature regulation. Partnering with NBCF gives us the opportunity to put that technology where it can make a real difference by helping women find greater comfort and a sense of control when they need it most.”

Why Sleep Matters During Treatment

Both organizations share the goal of improving quality of life for people affected by breast cancer. By combining product donations with fundraising from the pink rings, Chilipad hopes to bring meaningful comfort to people during treatment while helping NBCF expand access to critical resources like early detection, patient navigation, and education.

“We’re excited to partner with Chilipad. Sleep can be challenging during breast cancer treatment, particularly for patients experiencing hot flashes and night sweats,” said Douglas Feil, Chief Program Officer at NBCF. “Research shows that body temperature plays an important role in sleep, and a cooler sleep environment may support better, more restorative rest. Our mission at NBCF is to help now and this partnership will offer patients comfort at a time when quality sleep is most important.”

A Charlotte Survivor Leads the Conversation

As part of the initiative, Chilipad is partnering with Charlotte creator and breast cancer survivor Katy Harrel, whose own experience with triple-negative breast cancer turned her into an advocate for early detection and patient support. Through social storytelling during Breast Cancer Awareness Month, Harrel will help shine a light on the partnership while encouraging her community to give back and support women affected by breast cancer.

“While better sleep can’t change what someone is going through, we hope our technology can provide a little more comfort and a greater sense of control during nights when both can mean so much,” Chilipad said in a LinkedIn post announcing the partnership.
