Krieger Scientific has added two Regional Directors, who joined in September 2026, to support its continued growth across the East Coast. Joe Leuser joins as Regional Director, Southeast, bringing more than 30 years of instrumentation and controls experience. Michael Hanssens joins as Regional Director, Mid-Atlantic and Northeast, bringing more than two decades of experience in business development, enterprise sales, and operational improvement.

About Joe Leuser
Leuser’s career centers on calibration and metrology in pharmaceutical manufacturing. He joins Krieger from Alcami, where he served as Senior Manager of Metrology from 2024 to 2026 and led metrology teams across four sites in the Southeast and Midwest. Before Alcami, he was an Associate Director at CAI. Before that, he spent more than four years as Mid-Atlantic Calibration Services Team Senior Manager at PCI, where he had earlier served as a Process Team Leader.
From 2012 to 2017, Leuser was a Metrology Specialist for Diabetes API-US at Novo Nordisk in Clayton, North Carolina. He began his career in instrumentation as an engineering technician at Heraeus Electro-Nite in Philadelphia. He later held field service and instrument technician roles, including five years as an Instrument Technician at Sanofi Pasteur.
Leuser studied business administration and management at Peirce College and trained as a computer technician at Lincoln Technical Institute. He is based in North Carolina and will focus primarily on the Carolinas.
About Michael Hanssens
Hanssens spent 19 years at Rees Scientific, starting as a Regional Sales Manager in 2004. From 2012 to 2023, he served as Director of International Sales and Director of Strategy, Business Development and Marketing. In those roles, he led the global expansion of environmental monitoring systems used in biorepositories, pharmaceutical R&D facilities, and cell therapy manufacturing suites. He also built distributor networks in new regions and mentored a team of 25. After Rees, he served as Vice President at Cardinal Point Homeland Security Group and as Business Development Manager at Airvac. Since 2021, he has also been a Senior Consultant with H&H Consultants.
Earlier in his career, Hanssens spent 14 years as Operations Manager at The CEI Group, where he supervised a team of 150. He holds a B.A. in History and Business Management fromArcadia University and also studied at Penn State University. He is based in Pennsylvania and will cover the Mid-Atlantic and Northeast.
