As Chief Investment Officer, Jack leads TEDCO’s Strategic Direct Investment programs, which manage over $200 million in assets under management. Under his leadership, the team is consistently recognized as one of the Mid-Atlantic region’s most prolific investment programs, according to PitchBook.

Jack oversees TEDCO’s diligence and investment processes and leads Social Impact, Seed, and Venture investments. He provides strategic input to over 300 portfolio companies, helping to maximize TEDCO’s dual mandate of generating financial returns and driving economic development across the State of Maryland.

He reports directly to the CEO, offering insights to advance TEDCO’s investment strategies. Jack also supports the TEDCO Board Investment Committee, executes all investment transactions, manages portfolio development, and ensures full compliance with investment policies and guidelines as mandated by the Maryland Venture Fund Authority.

Nick Altieri
Managing Director, Morgan Stanley Private Wealth Management

Nick Altieri is a Managing Director in Morgan Stanley’s Private Wealth Management Division. His team advises on approximately $8 billion in assets, primarily for families who have built and sold healthcare businesses or who are private equity and venture capital investors in the healthcare sector.

As a private wealth advisor and former practicing trusts and estates attorney, Nick brings a unique and invaluable perspective to his clients. He collaborates closely with clients and their legal advisors to review estate plans and integrate wealth transfer structures into investment portfolios.

Nick also provides guidance on pre-IPO and pre-M&A planning, stock option analysis, and philanthropic strategies—all with a sharp focus on tax efficiency, asset preservation, and beneficiary considerations.

Joshua Speidel
Managing Partner at Latham BioPharm Group

Dr. Joshua Speidel brings extensive experience in biotechnology product development, with leadership roles at Sia/LBG spanning operational leadership, non-dilutive funding, vaccine development, and program management. At Sia/LBG, he has led initiatives in novel antiviral discovery, expansion into emerging technology sectors, and the development of life science products, including vaccines and therapeutic antibodies.

Dr. Speidel has been instrumental in securing over $1.25 billion in awards and led teams responsible for managing more than $3 billion in U.S. government contract awards. He has also contributed to global vaccine manufacturing and development efforts in collaboration with organizations such as the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation.

Previously, Dr. Speidel held strategic roles at DARPA, where he managed the agency’s H1N1 vaccine initiative and participated in clinical trials and high-impact collaborative efforts across the public and private sectors.
