Dr. Michael Hill is an innovation-driven entrepreneur and global leader in medical technology with nearly 30 years at Medtronic. His expertise spans research and technology, product development, clinical research, regulatory affairs, and global strategy. He currently advises investors, startups, and academic teams, and teaches innovation and entrepreneurship at Case Western Reserve University. Dr. Hill holds degrees from Duke University (BSE in BME/EE, BS in Math), CWRU (MS, PhD in BME), and an MBA from the University of St. Thomas. Dr. April Zambelli-Weiner is a nationally recognized expert in clinical research and evidence generation, with over 25 years of experience designing and executing high-impact studies that accelerate access to medical innovation. As the Founder and CEO of TTi Health Research & Economics, she leads a strategic Contract Research Organization (CRO) dedicated to helping healthcare innovators build rigorous, real-world evidence to inform clinical, regulatory, and market access decisions.
Under her leadership, TTi has supported hundreds of studies spanning diagnostics, digital
health, AI, and medical devices—ranging from pragmatic cluster trials to economic modeling and mixed-methods research. Dr. Zambelli-Weiner’s approach emphasizes strategic integration of economic and clinical endpoints, de-risking trial design and execution while delivering data that speaks to payers, providers, and policy stakeholders.
She serves as faculty at the Johns Hopkins Center for Bioengineering Innovation & Design (CBID), where she trains future health innovators in the business of healthcare and the critical role of evidence in shaping practice and policy. Her work has influenced FDA and CDC initiatives and contributed to national health policy through commissioned evaluations and peer-reviewed research.
