The Visionary Founder: Aalliyeh Clinton

At the heart of Monneah’s Engineered Materials is its founder, Aalliyeh Monneah Clinton. A passionate advocate for STEM education and safety in scientific operations, Aalliyeh’s journey began in middle school where her interest in science was first sparked. Her path led her through a STEM high school and eventually to Morgan State University, where she excelled in chemistry.

“As a woman in STEM, I understand the struggles and challenges of working in a male-dominated field,” Aalliyeh states. “Our new lab coats are more protective and inclusive, ensuring that all scientists can feel comfortable and confident in their work attire.

Clinton’s vision extends beyond just creating better PPE. She’s committed to educating and inspiring the next generation of scientists, particularly focusing on middle and high school students. Through her program “Cool Nerds on the Rise,” Clinton conducts engaging experiments like turning milk into plastic.

Her work has already reached over 100 students, providing them with hands-on science experiences and connections to mentorship opportunities. By focusing on middle and high school students, Clinton aims to inspire the next generation of scientists and engineers at a critical stage in their educational journey.

“I want to create an experience for my community,” she explains, “let them know the opportunities that we do have, the scientists and the technologies, all the amazing stuff that we are building.”
