1. Please introduce yourself to our audience by looking back at your education, training, and career path.

I’m a seasoned digital transformation and technology leader with over 30 years of experience driving operational excellence, regulatory compliance, and business growth across FDA-regulated industries. My bi-model career began in an Operations Management training program and led to subsequent positions, progressing to Executive positions in technology.  My roles have spanned from shop floor supervisor and Industrial Engineer to Chief Information Officer (CIO), Chief Digital and Information Officer (CDIO), board member, and advisor.

I’ve built and scaled enterprise IT organizations from start-ups to top 10 pharma companies, leading six acquisitions and integrations, two major Data Integrity remediations, and delivering millions in top and bottom-line growth.

I’ve spearheaded initiatives that included implementing machine learning solutions to drive double-digit sales growth, navigating complex FDA regulatory landscapes, and guiding organizations through successful compliance and cybersecurity remediations. As a trusted advisor to life sciences companies, I’ve helped scale operations from clinical to commercial readiness, including supporting the Emergency Use Authorization of a COVID-19 vaccine.

What sets me apart is my ability to blend deep technical expertise with business acumen and regulatory compliance, creating tangible value for stakeholders. I’m passionate about helping companies unlock growth, efficiency, and compliance through the use of technology.

2. Can you share more about your specific role at PQE Group? What are your main goals in this role, and what’s your favorite part about your job?

At PQE Group, I contribute across the intersection of growth, delivery, and innovation. My role spans business development and pre-sales leadership, strategic support for delivery teams, and co-creation of PQE’s digital solutions portfolio. This multi-faceted remit enables me to align client needs with operational execution and digital strategy, helping life sciences organizations achieve measurable results in compliance, quality, and performance.

I strongly believe that technology can be used as an enabler, reducing costs, improving quality by reducing errors, and enabling and sustaining regulatory compliance.  My goal in joining PQE is to help life science companies achieve these benefits and promote the use of technologies already in use in other industries.

3. Can you tell us more about why companies should consider partnering with PQE Group and what type of services you offer to your clients?

Before joining PQE Group as Subject Matter Expert and an advisor, I had the opportunity to experience the firm from the client side. During my tenure as the divisional IT Leader for Global Quality at Teva Pharmaceuticals, I built and led the Data Integrity Remediation Center of Excellence, a global initiative responding to multiple regulatory actions across the network of manufacturing sites. PQE played a key role in that effort, providing subject matter experts and hands-on resources that supported several of our European facilities.

Having seen PQE’s capabilities firsthand, I can attest to what sets them apart: the breadth and depth of their expertise across Pharmaceutical, Biotech, Medical Device, and Healthcare sectors. Few organizations can match PQE’s ability to combine regulatory knowledge, operational insight, and digital innovation to deliver sustainable results.

Today, as the industry sharpens its focus on Digital Transformation, Artificial Intelligence, and Data Integrity, PQE stands out with a deep bench of consultants and a proven track record across hundreds of successful client engagements.

4. Consulting is becoming a popular career path, particularly for scientists and medical professionals. What, in your opinion, are the top skills needed to be successful in a life science-focused consulting role?

Many firms claim to provide services in a broad spectrum of disciplines, especially the big strategic or accounting firms that strive to be everything to everyone.  While their engagements are often well executed, this model doesn’t always yield the most effective or efficient solutions. In some cases, both firms and individuals stretch beyond their true depth of knowledge and experience, leading to outcomes that are adequate but not optimal.

Consulting, by its nature, rewards those who can both win and deliver work, meaning you have to “eat what you kill”.

For professionals transitioning into consulting, my advice includes:

  • Stay within your area – stick within your area of proven expertise and experience.
  • Keep learning – find ways to stay current with industry practices, regulations, and technology.
  • Build a trusted network – surround yourself with former colleagues you can use as sounding boards.

5. Now for the fun question – what is the best piece of advice that you’ve ever been given?

The best piece of advice I’ve ever received is simple but incredibly powerful: “Listen before you speak.”

“Listening” goes beyond hearing words. It means observing, interpreting, and truly understanding both what’s being said and what’s not being said. It’s about paying attention to tone, body language, and context. It involves research to place context, accuracy and prioritization.  Whether you’re leading a team, advising a client, or resolving a problem, always take the time to fully understand the situation and ask questions before responding.  It’s advice that has served me well throughout my career.
