Baltimore’s BC3 Technologies Brings SEAL Wound Spray to Store Shelves for the First Time, Starting on Military Bases

BC3 Technologies, a Baltimore-based medical technology company focused on hemorrhage control, announced on September 10, 2026 that its SEAL Hemostatic Wound Spray is now stocked at 77 Army & Air Force Exchange Service (AAFES) locations across the U.S. and overseas, marking the company’s first expansion into brick-and-mortar retail.

CEO and Co-Founder Wayne Grube called the milestone personal for the team: “Making SEAL available through the Exchange is an important milestone for BC3 Technologies and one that is especially meaningful to our team. Our technology has long supported military and first-responder communities, and this collaboration expands access directly to the Soldiers, Airmen, Guardians, and military families at locations across the U.S. and overseas. This is also our first step into brick-and-mortar retail, bringing us closer to our goal of making effective bleeding-control solutions more accessible wherever people live, work, serve, and travel.”

From Field Kits to Store Shelves

SEAL OTC began rolling out to Exchange stores on August 10, 2026 and is now on shelves at major installations including Fort Bragg, Fort Campbell, and Fort Hood, as well as overseas locations such as Okinawa, Japan. The rollout runs through BC3’s existing distribution relationship with Acme United Corporation, a leading distributor of SEAL to industrial, government, and educational customers, whose leading first aid brands include First Aid Only® and My Medic®. After BC3 introduced SEAL to the Exchange, the two organizations worked together to leverage the existing Acme United/First Aid Only® distribution relationship to fulfill the retail rollout.

Janice Fowler, Vice President & General Manager of Acme United’s First Aid and Safety Division, said: “Acme United is committed to bringing innovative safety and first aid solutions to customers where they need them. Through our relationship with BC3 Technologies and the Exchange, we’re pleased to help expand access to SEAL and introduce this patented bleeding-control product to military shoppers and their families.”

For BC3, the launch represents another step in the company’s continued expansion from professional emergency response into consumer emergency preparedness. SEAL is currently used by first responders, healthcare professionals, military personnel, industrial safety organizations, and consumers across the United States and around the world. The Exchange itself has served Soldiers, Airmen, Guardians, and their families for more than 130 years, providing valued goods and services while supporting military Quality-of-Life programs.

A Consumer Push Backed by an FDA Clearance

SEAL is billed as the first and only FDA-cleared, patented chitosan formula-based aerosolized hemostatic wound spray, built around a patented “Shake-Spray-Pressure” application designed to control severe external bleeding within seconds, whether the person applying it is a trained professional or an everyday citizen. Severe bleeding remains one of the leading causes of preventable death in trauma situations, and BC3 developed SEAL to provide a simple, portable bleeding-control option that can be applied quickly when seconds matter.

The retail expansion follows a period of significant growth for BC3 Technologies and comes as National Preparedness Month highlights the importance of being equipped to respond when emergencies happen. During 2026, the company has continued to expand adoption of SEAL among consumers, public safety agencies, industrial safety organizations, military users, and international partners. The company’s expanding consumer business demonstrates rising interest in home emergency preparedness, outdoor recreation safety, and disaster readiness — including having effective bleeding-control tools readily available before professional medical care arrives. SEAL has previously won the EMS World Innovation Award and is eligible for purchase with HSA and FSA funds.

The rollout also follows a $200,000 Pre-Seed Builder Fund investment in BC3 from TEDCO, Maryland’s state technology development corporation, announced in July 2026. “With TEDCO’s investment, we will continue our growth, enhance research and product development, and advance our mission of making lifesaving technology more accessible to first responders, workplaces, families, military and communities around the world,” said Grube.
