Penn researchers get $12 million to study FLASH radiation, a promising cancer treatment

FLASH radiation could allow cancer patients to receive treatment within seconds and with fewer side effects than typical radiotherapy. The University of Pennsylvania’s Abramson Cancer Center has received a $12.3 million grant from the National Institutes of Health to advance research on the treatment.
