TELA Bio, Inc., a Malvern, Pennsylvania-based commercial-stage medical technology company focused on innovative soft-tissue reconstruction solutions, has announced the appointment of Heather Getz as Chief Executive Officer and Director, effective August 4, 2026. Getz succeeds company co-founder Antony Koblish, who is stepping down after leading TELA Bio through the development and commercialization of its OviTex™ soft-tissue reconstruction portfolio.

Heather Getz joins TELA Bio as the company enters what Board Chairman Joseph Capper called its next phase of growth and commercial execution, with the board citing her proven track record of driving operational excellence, leading organizations through complex business and financial transformations, and creating long-term shareholder value as key reasons for her appointment.
Getz joins TELA Bio having most recently served as Executive Vice President and Chief Financial and Operations Officer at Butterfly Network, Inc., where she drove transformative changes in the company’s strategy, capital allocation, cash runway, and investor relations while building a performance-oriented culture. Before Butterfly, she spent 12 years at BioTelemetry, Inc., a leading remote medical technology company, rising to Executive Vice President and Chief Financial and Administrative Officer. During her tenure there, BioTelemetry’s market capitalization grew from $50 million to $2.8 billion prior to its acquisition by Philips Healthcare in 2021.
Earlier in her career, Getz held executive financial leadership positions at Healthy.io, VIASYS Healthcare, and Alita Pharmaceuticals. She is a Certified Public Accountant and holds an MBA with a concentration in Finance, along with a Bachelor of Science in Accountancy, from Villanova University.
