People on the Move: Jay Saccaro Joins Zoetis as EVP, Chief Financial Officer and Chief Operating Officer

Zoetis Inc., the world’s leading animal health company, has appointed James (Jay) Saccaro as Executive Vice President, Chief Financial Officer and Chief Operating Officer, effective August 17, 2026. The newly created role combines Zoetis’ global finance function with oversight of Global Manufacturing and Supply. Saccaro succeeds Wetteny Joseph, who will transition to a Special Advisor role supporting the CEO on financial matters until early 2027 to help ensure a smooth transition.

About Jay Saccaro

In his expanded role, James Saccaro will lead capital allocation, financial strategy, reporting and controls, and investor engagement, while also driving operational execution and performance across Zoetis’ manufacturing and supply chain. CEO Kristin Peck said Saccaro brings a unique combination of skills to the newly created position, pointing to his 12 years of CFO experience at leading healthcare companies and his track record designing financial frameworks that balance R&D investment with operational rigor as key assets heading into the company’s next wave of innovation-driven growth.

Saccaro joins Zoetis from GE HealthCare, where he served as Vice President and Chief Financial Officer since 2023, leading the company’s finance, information technology, strategy, and business development functions during a pivotal period as a newly established public company. Before GE HealthCare, he spent nearly a decade at Baxter International Inc. as Executive Vice President and CFO, where he oversaw all aspects of the company’s finance and information technology functions, led a margin and cash flow improvement plan following Baxter’s spin-off of Baxalta, and played a key role in major M&A activity, including leading business development for the company’s $5 billion Medication Delivery unit.

Saccaro’s broader career includes more than two decades at Baxter International across several senior finance roles — Corporate Vice President and Treasurer, and Global Franchise Leader for Specialty Pharmaceuticals  along with a stint outside the company as Senior Vice President and CFO of Hill-Rom Corporation before he rejoined Baxter in 2014. He originally joined Baxter in 2002 as manager of strategy for the BioScience business and advanced through roles including Vice President of Financial Planning & Analysis, Vice President of Finance for Europe, the Middle East and Africa, and Director of Strategic Planning. Earlier in his career, he held business development roles at Clear Channel Communications’ Interactive Division and Bizbuyer.com, and began his career in strategic planning at The Walt Disney Company. He holds a bachelor’s degree in economics and a master’s degree in engineering-economic systems from Stanford University.

Announcing his new role, Saccaro said: “I am thrilled to join the world’s leading animal health company. From the company’s deep innovation pipeline to its products that have built and defined categories in the industry, Zoetis is an exceptional business grounded in a deep commitment to setting new standards for the future of animal care. There is a tremendous runway to build on that legacy, and alongside Kristin, the leadership team and Zoetis’ talented colleagues, I’m eager to help unlock the opportunities ahead and drive sustainable value creation.”
