Megha Rajaram Shaffer, Ph.D., has moved into a new role in Enterprise Business Development within the Sales Business Development team at Agilent Technologies. The move caps nearly 11 years with the company, during which she built a track record as one of its top-performing technical and commercial life sciences leaders.
About Megha Rajaram Shaffer
Shaffer most recently served as Senior Account Manager for Cell Analysis at Agilent, a role she held for nearly five years, where she owned revenue growth and portfolio adoption across a multi-technology life sciences portfolio spanning cell analysis, metabolic analysis, imaging, flow cytometry, next-generation sequencing, and quality control. In that role, she built trust-based partnerships with key opinion leaders across government, academic, biotech, and pharma institutions, consistently meeting and exceeding revenue and margin targets for enterprise-scale, multi-site organizations.
Before that, she spent six years as a Technical Sales Specialist, driving revenue growth and platform adoption across BioTek microplate readers, imaging systems, and liquid handling solutions — Agilent acquired BioTek Instruments in 2019. During that stretch, she grew her territory business by 410%, establishing the BioTek portfolio as a preferred partner within federal and public-sector research institutions. She joined Agilent’s lineage in the life sciences commercial world after a year as a Technical Sales Representative at Thermo Fisher Scientific.
Before her commercial career, Shaffer spent years in cancer bioinformatics research, earning her Ph.D. in Genetics with a focus on Functional Genomics from Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory, following prior doctoral study in Genetics at Stony Brook University. Her published research includes work on tumor-fibroblast interactions in tumorigenicity and the role of the 3q-amplified oncogene FNDC3B in cancer pathways.
