How did you come to join PQE Group?

In my previous position, I led strategic business development.  I heard about PQE Group and a few years ago, I reached out to PQE in an effort to drive collaboration in pursuing joint projects and opportunities. As a result of that alliance, I was given the opportunity to meet Gilda D’Incerti (Founder & CEO) and her team; flash forward to now, and Gilda reached out to me! The timing was perfect and clearly, the position was a great fit for both me and PQE.

Reflect a bit on your career path up to this new position – how have your previous experiences prepared you for this new role with PQE Group?

Previously, I worked in a competitor’s space in the pharma and medical device industries.  And in my earlier career, I worked in all aspects of design and construction; together, my past experiences have given me broad insight into the makings of a project, all the way from conceptual design through construction, commissioning, and completion. Each of these processes have led to the development of client relationships and strategic partner relationships for executing projects of all kinds, as well a solid knowledge of the industry and a strong understanding of the types of needs that pharma and medical device companies have.

What’s the story of how you have grown your career up to this point?

Relationships!  Building and maintaining relationships are a critical aspect, in my opinion, of the path to success. I arrived in this industry as a result of a relationship with someone in the industry – pharma and medical devices – from my former career in healthcare-related areas; I provided products to healthcare providers, such as physical/orthopedic rehabilitation, sports medicine. I managed the sales teams that developed accounts and relationships, and through a series of mergers and acquisitions my role evolved from an independent start-up to a national business. Developing and nurturing relationships is my passion; I consider it an incredible compliment when I meet someone new and they trust me enough to give me their business. I think relationships are at the root of all we do – I don’t manage bodies; I try to develop people, which requires, and results in, honesty, trust, and the opportunity to provide services. People want to work with people they trust and like. I never take that for granted – that is my mantra; the root of my integrity.

What are you most looking forward to in this new role? What impact are you hoping to have in the next 6 months to a year?

I’m looking forward to having an influence on the growth trajectory of the company through relationships, both internal and external, along with increased project opportunities, value-add deliverables, client retention strategies, partnering strategies, and brand recognition. I hope these things will trend in a very positive manner.

How do you think this role will challenge you and help you grow?

One of the reasons I joined PQE is its methodology for how the company is organized and its ability to support and execute opportunities and projects. The company is much more global than those I’ve worked with in the past, and its basis for federated business entities is exciting to me. Importantly, there is reciprocity in this relationship; in addition to what I bring to PQE, I clearly see the many opportunities PQE will provide me with in terms of my professional development. Clearly, the mutual relationship we have will help me grow these relationships with colleagues, clients, and potential customers. Another nice thing I’ve been seeing – coming to work for PQE lends credibility to me; I’ve already heard from existing PQE Group clients that I’ve worked with in the past that they are glad I’ve joined the team.

Our industry is ever-changing. In order to stay ahead of those changes, you need to have a company behind you that has the resources and the depth to implement and address all of these industry changes; in fact, you need a company that can be recognized for driving these industry changes. I’m really excited, I’m proud, and I’m honestly grateful for the opportunity to join the PQE Group team.
