McBee Moore & Vanik IP, a nationally-recognized leader in chemistry/biotechnology patent prosecution, welcomes its newest team members – Thomas Visone joins as an Associate, and Cindy Hernandez joins as an IP Specialist.

Thomas Visone is a registered patent attorney with the firm. Prior to joining the firm, he spent over nine years as a patent examiner at the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) where he examined hundreds of patent applications in various areas of technology, including biochemistry, chemistry, biotechnology, biomaterials, tissue engineering, fermentation, cellular compositions and culture methods, stem cell methods, tissue regenerative compositions and methods, cell-based therapies and therapeutics, biofuels, enzymes, nutraceuticals, probiotics, and microbiology. Thomas also spent time at the Office of the Solicitor and the Office of Petitions, and was an acting supervisory patent examiner.

In addition to his experience at the USPTO, Thomas has practiced civil litigation in Maryland and Florida where he provided his clients with aggressive, diligent, and cost-effective representation.

Prior to attending law school, Thomas gained practical research experience in the areas of cellular biology, process development, and molecular biophysics.

Thomas lives in Babcock Ranch, Florida, America’s first solar powered town, and enjoys spending time with his family.

Cindy Hernandez assists the attorneys and clients at McBee, Moore, & Vanik as a paralegal.  She files new patent applications and is responsible for all aspects of patent prosecution in addition to coordinating the firm’s litigation filings before the Patent Trial and Appeal Board.  Cindy is highly organized and detail-oriented and strives to enhance efficiency.  A diverse IP specialist, Cindy has experience handling and maintaining U.S. and Foreign filings with over 15 years in the IP industry.

Cindy lives in St. Cloud, Florida with her family.
