1. Tell us a little about your experience with PQE Group. How did you arrive at this company?
I’ve been with PQE Group for seven years now. My experience with the organization has been incredible. I joined as a Junior Consultant through a campus recruitment program. I was hired to work at PQE Group India and since then, I have traveled around the globe working at different PQE Group subsidiaries, meeting amazing people, and doing interesting work while capturing wonderful memories. I have been privileged to work on different projects related to Computer System Validation, Instrument/ Equipment Qualification, IT Infrastructure Qualification, Data Integrity Assessment, and Site Remediation at different geographical locations, which has provided me a multidisciplinary exposure of global life science industries. In addition to the India office, I’ve worked in the Italy office, Mexico office, and now I’m in the US, working in the Rockville, Maryland office. I’ve also worked at client sites in different countries, including Germany, Spain, Hungary, Iceland, Poland, and Switzerland.
2. What experiences you’ve had with PQE Group have been the most interesting?
I have worked on more than 30 projects during my years with PQE. Each and every project has been special in certain ways. I recall one of the more challenging experiences; it was a large remediation project for lab and manufacturing systems of an injectable facility in India during the Covid pandemic. 30 of us were working on-site when, due to a Covid lockdown, we were quarantined in a hotel and unable to leave our hotel for more than 45 days! We did continue our work from our hotel rooms, but the surreal nature of this situation was quite different because it was filled with uncertainty. However, the support we gave to and received from each other helped us get through this time more easily and allowed us to successfully proceed with our project. Another memorable laboratory validation project was in New York, when I was with six other team members working on a project in Long Island; in addition to having great work experience we were able to enjoy unforgettable, adventurous trips on weekends. In Iceland, as well, I had another fantastic experience – I was there during Covid to support Audit Trail Review implementation for laboratory systems. During this period, we were able to witness a live volcano – an entirely different type of experience. In short, all of my projects have been unique and I have wonderful memories attached to each.
3. We’ve heard that the life of a consultant is not simple. Which are the critical points and which are the positive ones? What did PQE Group offer and what do you expect for the future?
As a consultant, I find that the nature of the work can be very dynamic. Frequently changing time zones, frequent travel to client sites and working with people around the globe is critical for a company like PQE Group, and sometimes dramatically different time zones can impact work-life balance, but PQE Group has always been flexible and my colleagues are always cooperative, which makes things so much easier. Working for PQE Group has enabled me to gain tremendous of experience and wonderful memories, as my work has allowed me to meet people from different countries and different cultures, and I’ve been fortunate to be able to witness – and come to appreciate – the organization’s vast global diversity both personally as well as professionally.
4. How has it been for you working in the US?
My time in Rockville has been wonderful. I moved to Maryland last year and it has been a completely differently experience, as I changed my personal life as well as my professional life. I have been supporting PMO for US projects along with working as Project Manager for Remediation and Data Integrity projects for life science industries. The Rockville office is small, but my colleagues are very accommodating and it feels like a family here!
5. Who is Yash outside of PQE? What are your interests? How do you spend your free time?
In my free time I love exploring – taking long drives, getting lost in nature, and sitting next to free-flowing water or in the middle of the forest to enjoy the sounds of nature. Here in Maryland, there are many wonderful places I can do this – with short drives to the Chesapeake Bay and the Atlantic Ocean beaches, the mountains, Great Falls, Rock Creek Park….we are surrounded by nature in this beautiful area, and I feel fortunate to be located in such a great environment. Travel is also an important part of who I am, and again, thanks to PQE, I have been able to travel to many places around the world, meet wonderful people, and make friends for life.
