University of Maryland Business School Alum Founds Company to Ensure Hospitals Have PPE

Branden Denchfield, an alum of UMD’s Robert H. Smith School of Business, founded MedicalNow, LLC in the midst of the coronavirus pandemic. Medical Now’s mission is to procure and deliver certified Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) for hospitals and first responders in need. The company sources PPE as a broker/distributor from certified manufacturers in its growing global network. The company recently supplied 1,000 quality face shields to MedSupplyDrive and has worked with many hospitals and healthcare providers in the region to secure desperately needed PPE. 

VaLogic Donates Dozens of Boxes of PPE to Frederick Health Hospital

Frederick, Maryland’s VaLogic, a life science operations consulting company, heard that the local hospital, like so many others, was in need of Personal Protective Equipment or PPE. The VaLogic team went about assessing its inventory of PPE, gathered it up, and delivered it to Frederick Health Hospital. VaLogic donated dozens of boxes of PPE; the delivery included lab coats, frocks, goggles, boot covers, masks, and gloves to frontline healthcare providers.

Maryland Company Helps Closed Business Reopen Safely

For 16 years, the husband and wife duo of Kacy and Alexis Jenkins had provided turnkey event services to casinos, artists, colleges and liquor companies through their company Humdinger Productions. Humdinger Productions is a full-service event design, fabrication and event production company that produces high profile festivals and concerts and creates experiential marketing activations, exhibits, and displays.

When COVID-19 hit, the Jenkins’ pivoted quickly to help community businesses get back up and running once approved to do so. The new operation is called Infection Mitigation; this new service line offers area companies to develop reopening strategies while sourcing the materials like PPE and cleaning services needed to safely reopen. They can also help with messaging surrounding COVID-19.
