Montgomery County Economic Development Corporation appoints Jessica Reynolds as Chief Operating Officer to help drive strategic growth and operational execution.

The Montgomery County Economic Development Corporation (MCEDC) announced the appointment of Jessica Reynolds as its new Chief Operating Officer. In this role, Reynolds will oversee internal operations and help execute the organization’s strategic initiatives aimed at strengthening Montgomery County’s position as a leading life sciences and business hub.

MCEDC, the public-private partnership driving economic growth in one of the nation’s most prominent bioinnovation clusters, continues to build out its leadership team as it supports business attraction, retention, and expansion across the region.

Driving Execution Across a Growing Ecosystem

As COO, Reynolds will oversee the organization’s day-to-day operations and work closely with leadership to execute strategic priorities that enhance the county’s economic competitiveness. She will help guide initiatives that attract new businesses, support existing companies, and foster a thriving ecosystem for key industries including life sciences, technology, and advanced manufacturing. Her role will also involve collaborating with public and private stakeholders to ensure alignment across economic development efforts throughout the region.

Reynolds brings more than a decade of experience in economic development and public service to MCEDC. Prior to joining the organization, she spent 14 years with the Maryland Department of Commerce, where she held multiple leadership roles and contributed significantly to statewide business development and retention efforts. Throughout her tenure, she worked closely with companies across a range of industries, helping them navigate growth opportunities and expand their presence in Maryland.

Her deep understanding of Maryland’s economic landscape, combined with her strong network of relationships across government and industry, positions her well to help MCEDC advance its mission. Reynolds has been instrumental in fostering collaboration between state and local partners, and her experience will be critical as Montgomery County continues to build on its reputation as a leading destination for innovation and investment.
