CRB Named ISPE Company of the Year for Record Fourth Time at Washington, D.C. Meeting

CRB, a Kansas City, Missouri-based engineering, architecture, construction, and consulting firm serving the life sciences industry, has been named Company of the Year by the International Society for Pharmaceutical Engineering (ISPE), the company announced on October 28, 2026. ISPE presented the award at its 2026 Annual Meeting & Expo, held in October in Washington, D.C.

“Our teams work alongside clients every day to solve difficult challenges with a shared goal: helping get critical medicines and therapies to the patients who need them,” said Vahid Ownjazayeri, President and CEO of CRB. “This honor reflects the commitment our people bring to that work and to our industry.”

A Fourth Win

ISPE’s Company of the Year Award recognizes a company’s support of the society’s work sharing knowledge and best practices on technical challenges in pharmaceutical manufacturing.

According to CRB, it is the first company to win the award four times. It previously won in 2000, 2012, and 2019. Its 2000 win made it the first professional services firm to receive the honor.

CRB’s involvement with ISPE goes beyond this award. Projects CRB supported have been recognized through ISPE’s Facility of the Year Awards. CRB staff also contribute to ISPE guidance documents, Communities of Practice, chapter leadership, and industry events.

Roots in the BioHealth Capital Region

When CRB won its third Company of the Year award in 2019, BioBuzz reported on the firm’s contributions to the BioHealth Capital Region through its Rockville, Maryland office. That team designed and built Paragon Bioservices’ gene therapy manufacturing facility near BWI airport, which opened in April 2019. CRB also partnered with Emergent BioSolutions on a Baltimore manufacturing facility that earned a 2018 ISPE Facility of the Year Honorable Mention.
