Life sciences services provider CRB is establishing its latest office in New Jersey, creating a project delivery network corridor that ranges from the BioHealth Capital Region, through Philadelphia and on to Toronto.
As a thriving life sciences hub, New Jersey was a natural fit for CRB, which provides engineering, architecture, construction, and consulting solutions to the industry. Last year CRB’s experience was rewarded with three Facility of the Year Awards from the International Society for Pharmaceutical Engineering (ISPE). The facilities CRB was recognized for are maintained by Catalent Pharma Solutions, Takeda Pharmaceuticals and Iovance Biotherapeutics.
The new office puts CRB closer to its core clients as well as local smaller companies. The Garden State is a top 10 biopharma hub in the United States, coming in at third-place in Genetic Engineering News’ rankings, and CRB teams will be better able to engage its partners with the opening of its 22nd global office in Bridgewater.
CRB notes that clients are increasingly seeking integrated project delivery, design, construction, pre-construction and procurement services to scale their products from research and development through to commercial-scale production. The new location will allow CRB to leverage its expertise in these areas and secure a greater toehold within the northeastern part of the United States. The New Jersey office also provides CRB with direct access to a strong pipeline of engineering, design, construction and architecture talent.
Not only does locating the latest office in Bridgewater place CRB in close proximity to New Jersey-based companies, organizations that call New York and Connecticut home are just a short drive away.
In addition to better serving New Jersey-based clients, the new CRB space is also designed to provide its own employees with multiple amenities to support a work-life balance. The site includes investments in furnishings and technology that fosters a collaborative environment, as well as an outdoor courtyard, café and fitness center.
The new office will be led by Paul Shapiro, who brings more than 30 years of experience in engineering design, leadership, and project management to the role. Shapiro has extensive experience with CRB’s ONEsolution™ lean project delivery approach, which leverages the combined expertise of a single project team in order to align with its clients on cost and schedule without sacrificing safety or quality. CRB notes this approach demonstrated its capabilities during the COVID-19 response. Several vaccine manufacturers partnered with CRB’s design and construction teams in order to deliver new sites that could rapidly deliver vaccine demands.
A leader in life sciences, CRB keeps a steady finger on the pulse of the industry. Its annual Life Sciences Horizons reports is based on survey responses from hundreds of industry leaders who provide insight into all corners of the industry. The annual report closely examines movement within the industry and what it takes for companies of all sizes to keep abreast and maintain a steady pace with the rapid rate of discovery. The annual report examines multimodal manufacturing, strategic collaborations and talent needs in order to provide an overall snapshot of the life sciences industry.
CRB, which is a three-time ISPE Company of the Year winner, posts additional reports, including market condition reports, as well as closer looks at niche therapeutic paradigms, such as cell and gene therapy and alternative proteins. CRB’s New Jersey footprint will allow the company to leverage the capabilities of its team of subject matter experts for all new projects the company undertakes within one of the most influential and innovative life sciences hubs in the world.
