About Patrick Hanley
Patrick Hanley, Ph.D. is the Chief and Director of the Cellular Therapy Program at the Children’s National Research Institute and an Associate Professor of Pediatrics. He leads efforts to develop, manufacture, and test novel cell and gene therapies for cancer and infection. With over 18 years of experience in immunology and cellular therapy, Dr. Hanley has overseen more than 25 clinical trials and the production of over 600 cellular therapy products. His work focuses on improving the potency of cellular therapies and reducing the time to bring them to patients. He is a leading expert in Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) regulations and serves on the Board of Directors for the Foundation for the Accreditation of Cellular Therapy (FACT). Dr. Hanley is also a Commissioning Editor of the journal Cytotherapy and past Vice President of North America for the International Society for Cell and Gene Therapy (ISCT).
