Nucleate’s keystone program, the Activator, is a six-month, equity-free educational program designed for academic trainee-led biotech founders. Several groundbreaking companies have emerged from the Nucleate Activator, securing millions in funding and making strides in biotech innovation, some of which are:
- NextRNA Therapeutics raised $56 million in venture capital to develop therapeutics targeting non-coding RNAs.
- Manifold Bio secured $45 million as a company focused on protein design technologies and developing biologics.
- Concerto Biosciences raised $26 million to develop microbial therapies.
- Glyphic Biotechnologies raised over $44 million and is pioneering next-generation protein sequencing technologies.
“As we celebrate our growth, we reaffirm our commitment to addressing unmet needs in the biotech landscape,” stated Soufiane Aboulhouda, Co-founder and Chairman of the Board. “This report not only reflects our achievements but marks the beginning of a broader journey.”
The organization, which expanded its reach to Washington, D.C., and Baltimore in 2021, further highlights the success of the regional Activator Program. Recent regional alumni ventures including Aptabridge Therapeutics, Prompt Diagnostics, CurveAssure, and Somnair. Post Activator program these startups have gone on to participate in the LifeBridge Health BioIncubator, the Activate Fellowship, and Rice Business Plan Competition.
