McBee Moore & Vanik IP Celebrates Seven Years, Continues Growth
FREDERICK, Md. (January 13, 2023) – McBee, Moore & Vanik IP, LLC began in 2016 when partners Susan McBee, C.G. Moore, David Vanik and 12 employees came together to form a new patent law firm with improved client service as the ultimate goal. This year, the firm is celebrating seven years together.
As the firm celebrates this milestone, MMVIP has expanded in size and now has a total of 28 employees. From MMVIP’s 12 total legal professionals, six practitioners hold Ph.D. degrees and five practitioners are former USPTO Examiners. MMVIP’s support staff includes one professional searcher and 16 support staff including paralegals, admin and docketing specialists.
MMVIP’s 12 Attorneys/Agents specialize primarily in:
- biotechnology
- chemistry/material science
- medical technology, and
- pharmaceuticals
In 2022 MMVIP had an overall increase in worldwide patent filings by over 100% as compared to the number of filings in 2016 by the Firm. To handle this influx, the company added two more former Examiners from the US Patent & Trademark Office to fill its ranks.
Also in 2022, the team was able to get out into the IP community post-COVID to attend Licensing Executive Society International’s annual meeting in person in Venice, Italy, Women In Bio’s HERstory Gala for the Washington DC metro area and many other local events including those hosted by the Frederick County Chamber of Commerce, BioBuzz and others. MMVIP has also recently partnered with Frederick County Public Schools Lynx Program as well as the Frederick Women’s Circle of Giving Women’s Distance Festival 2023.
