Life Science Cares Philadelphia has welcomed Mike Luby to its Board of Advisors, bringing more than three decades of pharmaceutical industry experience to the organization’s mission of mobilizing the life sciences sector against poverty in the Greater Philadelphia region.
“I have spent my entire career in life sciences and feel incredibly fortunate for the opportunities this industry has given me,” Luby said. “Life Science Cares provides a meaningful way to give back, strengthen our Philadelphia community and help create opportunities for others. I am excited to be part of it.”
About Mike Luby
An entrepreneur who has built multiple companies across the pharmaceutical industry, Luby is Founder, President, and CEO of Fonseca Biosciences, a specialty pharmaceutical company focused on acquiring and commercializing differentiated pharmaceutical products. Fonseca is currently launching XTORO® (finafloxacin otic suspension) 0.3%, an FDA-approved treatment for acute otitis externa, or swimmer’s ear, as the company’s first commercial product. He is also Founder, President, and CEO of HCP Concierge, a marketing logistics organization that reimagines how pharmaceutical companies engage with health care professionals, and Founder, President, and CEO of BioPharma Alliance, a consulting firm serving pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies from the Philadelphia suburbs.
Luby began his career at Merck, where he spent nearly a decade in sales and marketing roles spanning market research, managed care, product management, and licensing evaluation before finishing as worldwide head of marketing for two late-stage drugs preparing for launch. He went on to co-found TargetRx, a pharmaceutical analytics company that pioneered the use of leading indicators to guide sales and marketing decision-making for many of the world’s leading pharmaceutical companies, before its acquisition in 2011.
Luby holds an MBA from The Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania and a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from Dartmouth College.
