TEDCO’s President was reappointed for her final year as Board President in April 2026
Established in 1961, MEDA is a nonprofit organization of professionals committed to promoting the well-being of Maryland by working to improve the state’s business climate and the professionalism of those in the field of economic development. Each year, the organization puts together a two-day conference, gathering professionals together to help connect across regions, learn about current practices and projects, and brainstorming solutions for Maryland’s continued growth. Currently, the organization includes more than 550 economic development experts.

• Past president – Richard Griffin, City of Frederick
“Over the past year, Tammi has shown up and shown out for Maryland’s economic development ecosystem, and I am thrilled to see her continue in this role bringing her energy and unwavering commitment to uplifting and uniting the diverse regions that make up our great state,” said Pam Ruff, executive director of MEDA.
Throughout her career, Thomas has championed innovation, fostered public-private partnerships and expanded economic opportunities across the state. Her passion and commitment to Maryland’s ecosystem was even recognized by The Daily Record as she joined the 2026 Maryland Top 100 Women, making this her second time recognized for this award.
During her final year as president of MEDA’s Board of Directors, Thomas remains committed to showcasing her unwavering resolve.
