Olatilewa Komolafe Joins American Gene Technologies® as Marketing & Social Media Specialist
Olatilewa previously worked for Action STL and Missouri Young African Professionals (MOYAP), non profit organizations that educate and provide networking opportunities for marginalized groups in Saint Louis. I provided strategic guidance for their communications, marketing and public relations initiatives. As a former customer success specialist, she worked closely with Johnson & Johnson, Disney, Apple and the Chemical Abstract Society. She has also worked with the Lagos State Government in Nigeria as their Assistant Public Affairs Officer. For the past four years, Olatilewa has focused on content creation, brand management, strategy, communications, marketing and public relations.
Olatilewa was hired as a Sales and Marketing Specialist for the COVID Business Unit at American Gene Technologies®, where she was responsible for enlisting doctors and medical facilities to partner with American Gene’s COVID lab, which helps fund the American Gene™ HIV cure program. She recently transitioned into the Marketing Department, accepting the position of Marketing and Social Media Specialist, where her responsibilities include:
- Developing integrated social media content across various platforms to build awareness of American Gene’s mission and engage our audiences.
- Creating compelling graphics for a variety of marketing collateral.
- Coordinating interviews for The Cure Chronicles video series.
- Designing and editing HubSpot newsletters and investor decks.
- Assisting with implementation of website projects.
- Supporting branding, messaging and marketing deliverables.
“Olatilewa is incredibly versatile, which is exactly what companies like American Gene Technologies® need. Using her sales skills, she built relationships for AGT™’s COVID-19 testing lab that continue to support our company. It wasn’t easy, but her hard work in sales continually benefits AGT™. On top of that, Olatilewa is a polished professional in marketing and advertising, which allows her to flex between roles as needed, applying her master’s degree to our communications. She translates science to plain English, then efficiently broadcasts news from our HIV cure program’s clinical trial straight to the people that need to hear it,” said Luke Williams, Sales and Marketing Hiring Manager at American Gene Technologies®.
