Pitch It On!
November 2, 2022
Time: 12:00 to 1:00 PM
Johns Hopkins Technology Ventures will host its third Pitch It On! event, a virtual pitch competition featuring Johns Hopkins women inventors seeking funding to support their innovation’s development. Three female-led innovations will be selected from a pool of applicants to present their pitches online to a panel of entrepreneurs for live feedback. The event culminates with the audience voting for the most compelling pitch which will be awarded $10,000.
BioBuzz Bioprocessing & Manufacturing Meetup

Often traditional evening networking meetings can be difficult for those to attend who have young children or other caregiving responsibilities.
These Coffee Chats will be facilitated by members of the WIB-Capital Region leadership team in different areas with times that are after drop-off, before work, lunch, or during afternoon breaks so that members can meet and mingle in a professional networking environment. Coffee Chat facilitators will have a few ice breakers and topic questions to start discussions if needed.

CVilleBioHub’s Game Changer: The Role of Real Estate in the Growth of a Life Science Ecosystem

Join CVilleBioHub for a panel discussion about how and on what timeline are CvilleBioHub and UVA working to bring more lab and manufacturing capacity to Charlottesville.

BioTrac’s Antibody Validation and Characterization Training Workshop
December 12-13th
This two-day program is ideal for basic research and translational biology scientists who work with antibodies on a regular basis. This program focuses on the types of artifacts associated with antibodies and introduces them to a variety of validation methods that can be implemented in research and academic laboratories.
Antibodies, and in particular monoclonal antibodies, are the single most important laboratory reagent, but are now also recognized as a main contributor to the reproducibility crisis that wastes research funding, undermines trust in scientific research, and jeopardizes scientific careers. This workshop brings to the participants’ attention the various factors that can compromise the validity of data produced with antibodies.

PitchMasters Workshop

Since PitchMasters’ creation, over 100 companies have presented their businesses to CEOs, advisors, business attorneys, and investors to gain valuable feedback. At this workshop-style event, companies seeking to become “pitch-perfect” will present their investor decks to the group and receive feedback to help refine their pitch before they go in front of investors. This is a great opportunity for companies to get ready for that “ask.” Founders receive 6 minutes to pitch and 5 minutes of feedback.
