PM Group, a global leader in life sciences engineering and architecture, is expanding its presence in the Greater Philadelphia region with an investment of $495,000 in new office space and the creation of at least 48 new, full-time jobs in Conshohocken, Montgomery County.
The expansion — supported by a $150,000 investment from the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania — underscores the Shapiro Administration’s ongoing efforts to strengthen the state’s innovation economy and attract global life sciences companies to Pennsylvania.
Strengthening Pennsylvania’s Life Sciences Cluster
The Department of Community and Economic Development (DCED) is supporting PM Group’s expansion through a $100,000 Pennsylvania First grant and a $50,000 WEDnetPA workforce training grant, which will help the company recruit and upskill high-demand engineering, architecture, and project management talent.
PM Group’s new space at 300 Four Falls Road will house project managers, engineers, and architects — positions that command an average annual wage of $180,000 — while retaining the company’s existing workforce at 300 Barr Harbor Drive, the Life Sciences Design Center in Conshohocken.
This project was coordinated through Governor Shapiro’s BusinessPA team, which helps international companies establish and scale operations across the Commonwealth.
Allan Schouten, President, PM Group USA, said the firm will create 48 additional highly skilled jobs, enabling it to develop its office into a regional center of excellence for life sciences engineering and architecture.
A Strategic Win for Pennsylvania
PM Group’s decision to expand follows direct engagement between DCED Secretary Rick Siger and PM Group leadership during an economic development mission to Ireland earlier this year — part of a broader initiative to deepen trade and investment ties between Pennsylvania and Ireland.
Ireland is currently Pennsylvania’s ninth-largest trading partner and the sixth-largest source of foreign direct investment in the Commonwealth, with more than 380 Irish companies operating across the state. In 2024 alone, Pennsylvania exported $663 million in goods to Ireland, primarily in pharmaceuticals and plastics.
The expansion adds to a growing list of Irish investments in the region, including projects by Kerry Group and Tate, highlighting southeastern Pennsylvania’s status as a premier hub for life sciences growth.
Shapiro Administration’s Economic Momentum
Since taking office, Governor Josh Shapiro and his administration have secured over $25.6 billion in private-sector investments, creating more than 12,400 new jobs statewide. PM Group’s expansion adds to that momentum, aligning with Pennsylvania’s 10-Year Economic Development Strategy focused on advanced manufacturing, biotechnology, and infrastructure innovation.
Governor Shapiro’s FY 2025–26 budget proposal includes new and expanded investments to accelerate this growth — from $12.5 million to expand WEDnetPA workforce training to $10 million in AdvancePA tax credits for high-quality job creation — signaling a long-term commitment to competitiveness and workforce readiness.
Building a Regional Center of Excellence
Founded in Ireland in 1973, PM Group is an employee-owned company with over 4,000 professionals worldwide and more than five decades of experience delivering complex projects for the world’s leading life sciences and technology firms.
The Conshohocken expansion represents another step in PM Group’s U.S. growth strategy, solidifying its Philadelphia-area office as a regional hub for life sciences design and delivery — and reinforcing Pennsylvania’s reputation as a global destination for biotech innovation
