Humberto Moran has joined Cellphire Therapeutics as Vice President of Manufacturing Technical Operations, bringing more than 20 years of technical operations, quality, and supply chain leadership across clinical-stage biotech and global biopharmaceutical companies to the role. About Humberto Moran
Moran joins Cellphire from Sensei Bio, where he spent five years, most recently as Vice President, Tech Ops, Quality & Maryland Site Head, after being promoted from Director of CMC. There, he directed enterprise functions spanning Technical Operations, Quality, Supply Chain, Human Resources, Facilities, Engineering, Information Technology, and Validation, managed a $12 million operating budget while delivering approximately $2 million in cost savings, and served on the company’s Executive Committee alongside providing operational and CMC updates to its Board of Directors.
Before Sensei Bio, Moran spent three years as Senior Manager, Cell Culture Manufacturing, at MacroGenics, where he oversaw upstream manufacturing operations supporting facility start-up, process validation, and commercialization readiness for late-stage biologics programs, including two biologics commercializations, FDA pre-approval inspections, and three Process Performance Qualification campaigns. He spent nine years at MedImmune in Gaithersburg, Maryland, rising from Lead Technician to Supervisor, where he reduced facility changeover timelines from roughly three months to less than one week and improved batch record review efficiency by about 40%.
Earlier in his career, Moran held manufacturing and validation roles at Baxter International, Amgen, and Abbott, including as an inaugural employee at Amgen’s start-up manufacturing facility in Juncos, Puerto Rico.
Moran holds a bachelor’s degree in Biology from Rutgers University-Newark.
