Erik Crown Joins Workforce Genetics & BioBuzz to Lead Marketing & Communications
Workforce Genetics welcomes recruiting industry veteran Erik Crown as the new Head of Marketing and Communications. Erik will be the head storyteller conveying the vision for both the Recruiting and BioBuzz Media divisions which offer a variety of services to life science employers across several functional areas, including recruiting, publishing, events, marketing, employer branding, and consulting.
Erik’s background includes marketing leadership roles for large national and international brands, including the world’s largest legal executive search firm, the nation’s largest healthcare staffing company, and most recently the world’s largest trade credit insurance provider.
“I have had the good fortune to hold a variety of marketing and communications roles for market leaders during my ten years in the staffing and recruiting industry,” shared Crown. “I look forward to bringing my experience to help not just Workforce Genetics and Biobuzz, but also our clients grow through marketing, employer branding, talent attraction, acquisition and retention. Chris, Adam and the leadership team have worked incredibly hard to build our foundation. I look forward to seeing what we accomplish over the next decade and beyond.”
Prior to joining our team, Erik worked in the trade credit insurance industry for three years at Euler Hermes, the world’s largest trade credit insurance provider. In early 2021 he earned the Allianz (parent company to Euler Hermes) Leadership Passport, completing the company’s elite #lead Experience and #lead Passport online learning journey. Erik’s writing has been published in JD Supra, an online legal industry publication, and he has served as a mentor for middle school and high school youth through Life Coaches of Baltimore City.
“From our first conversation Erik and I were aligned on the vision we have for an innovative talent solutions company built on the foundation of personalized experiences, and the important role that Marketing plays in executing that vision,” stated Workforce Genetics CEO, Chris Frew. “Erik not only has the creative mindset we need for a fast growing company, but he brings a track record of more than a decade of experience supporting some of the leading recruiting brands in the market so he intimately knows our audiences and how to achieve results. We are thrilled to have him as part of our team.”
A lifelong learner, Erik has received Executive Education certificates from the University of Pennsylvania’s Wharton School and the University of Virginia’s Darden School of Business. Before that, Erik attended Messiah University where he studied marketing as an undergraduate. He also played on Messiah’s NCAA Division III lacrosse team. A father to a boy and two girls, Erik currently resides with his wife, children, and dog in Baltimore City.
