Workforce Genetics Welcomes Three New Recruiters
Join us in welcoming three new members to the Workforce Genetics team! They will be working alongside WGx’s life science clients to help them find top talent and, in turn, help talent find exciting new opportunities.
Michael Lee – Talent Consultant
I have been in the recruiting world since I graduated from Towson University in 2017 with a Sport Management degree (minor in Business administration). I had a short internship in college with a Staffing Firm which was my initial introduction to the industry, and once I graduated college I decided to take the leap full time into the field. I worked with Ultimate Staffing two separate stints for about 4 years total doing HR, Customer Service, Logistics, and Admin roles. In between I went to Comcast where I was a corporate recruiter for their Outside/Inside Sales teams. I even took a shot at starting my own freelance company during the pandemic after I was laid off from Comcast.
I had previously worked alongside Sean (although in different branches) and when I saw he had joined Workforce Genetics, I did some research on the company and it intrigued me very much. I wanted to get out of doing general office roles and get into a more specialized industry where I could learn new skills and recruit for higher-level positions. When I reached out and spoke to Sean as I saw there was an opening for a Talent Consultant, I immediately knew I wanted to join Workforce Genetics. Being a smaller, startup company intrigued me as I knew I had the chance to become a vital part of the business rather than just another cog in the wheel at a larger organization. I had the opportunity to see the office space and speak to Chris Frew as well, and the passion and knowledge he had for the industry blew me away.
I am very excited to have the opportunity to join the Workforce Genetics team and look forward to gaining knowledge of the Life Science and Biotech industry. I know there will be a strong learning curve, but that also excites me. The team thus far has provided me with a wealth of knowledge, training, and actionable skills to help me in both my recruiting and sales efforts. I am passionate about helping people get into new positions where they can make more money, be happier, and lead better lives for themselves and their families. Also, working with and learning about organizations that are creating new innovative medicines that could potentially change millions of peoples lives for the better is something that I find pride in, and receive motivation from.
Brianna Steed – Life Science Consultant
I grew up in the beautiful state of North Carolina where I attend UNC-Greensboro. I majored in Business Administration and I have always been interested in a client-facing role. My father-in-law suffers from a rare disease so being in the life science space really hits home. This field has so many opportunities to offer new hope to individuals with different illnesses. Being in the space and a part of the milestones in the industry is something I am proud to be in!
I always knew I wanted to make a difference but wasn’t exactly sure where my calling would be until I found the life science recruiting space. Being in this space, I am able to place passionate professionals in companies that are making life changing therapeutics and devices. One thing that drove me to Workforce Genetics was their niche of partnering with clinical-stage companies. I love the partnership that happens as a company grows and progresses through clinical trials.
As Workforce Genetics continues to grow I am very excited for our clients and the impact we will have in the life science industry!
Miranda Joseph – Life Science Recruiter
I am from Antigua, which is an island in the Caribbean. I have an Associate’s degree in Pre-Nursing from Frederick Community College and currently working towards my Bachelor’s Degree in Global Health from Arizona State University. My goal in life is to keep working in the Science field in regard to recruiting and to also work towards gaining a Master’s Degree in the near future.
At present time, I wear many hats when it comes to work. I am a part-time sales associate at DSW, a company I have been working with for the past 6 years. I also currently work as a Laboratory Technician II at Azenta Life Sciences, doing DNA Sequencing, where I have been for a year and a half now. As of this month, I am also a Life Science Recruiter here at Workforce Genetics.
The reason why I wanted to join the team here at Workforce Genetics is because every aspect of the job checked off all my boxes and more. I work in the biotech field, and I loved biology in school. Combining those and my love for recruiting, this was the perfect job.
I am ready to not only learn but to grow as a life science recruiter. The culture here at Workforce Genetics is fantastic and I am excited for the journey to come working here.
