Commission Appoints Amritha Jaishankar, Ph.D. as Executive Director, Maryland Stem Cell Research Fund (MSCRF)

The Maryland Stem Cell Research Commission announces the appointment of Amritha Jaishankar, Ph.D. as Executive Director, Maryland Stem Cell Research Fund (MSCRF). In her role as the Executive Director of the Maryland Stem Cell Research Fund, Amritha oversees all MSCRF activities and six programs accelerating stem cell research, commercialization, and cures. She will remain committed to helping our scientists, physicians, and companies advance their research and deliver cures to patients in need.

Dr. Jaishankar’s leadership, dedication, and tremendous work with the MSCRF and our stem cell community over the past few years make her the ideal person to take us forward. Her unparalleled passion and sense of urgency to accelerate stem cell research and cures to patients in need will no doubt elevate MSCRF and expand its impact to benefit the people of Maryland”, said Dr. Debra Mathews, Chair of the Maryland Stem Cell Research Commission.

With over $170M in over 500 stem cell/cell therapy projects in Maryland, TEDCO leads the way in identifying and supporting the most promising stem cell technologies in our region and Amritha will continue to grow MSCRF, to expand impact and to build a collaborative stem cell community to advance science and Accelerate Cures together.
